How does Trucksecure work?
A control box which is the main brain of the system is fitted inside the cab. A feed from the ignition, sensor and warning devices wire directly to terminal blocks on the controller. When the ignition is switch off the system starts it’s setting procedure. Once set the strobe will flash several times to confirm the system is set. Should an activation occur the siren will sound along with the strobe for several minutes and then re-set.
What is the difference between CAT-Guard and Tank-Guard?
The products are the same except the sensor. The sensors have different fixtures and are programmed slightly differently.
How many sensors can I fit to one controller?
The controller has four inputs. This means that four sensors can be installed. They do not necessarily need to be Trucksecure sensors. Security devices such as door contacts or movement detectors can be used.
What happens if someone cuts the sensor wire?
The sensor cable is tamper proof. If someone does cut the cable and instant alarm will activate.
How easy is it to fit?
A competent auto electrical mechanic will have no problem installing Trucksecure. A set of simple instructions and a wiring diagram come with each unit along with all wiring looms and fixtures.
How long does Trucksecure take to install?
If installed by a professional mechanic the average time is approximately two hours.
Why does the strobe flash intermittently?
The strobe is used as an active deterrent to deter thieves from attacking the vehicle in the first instance. Once the system is armed the strobe will flash for several seconds ever few minutes. Along with the warning stickers supplied it provides a visible warning to any potential thief that the vehicle has a specialist alarm fitted.
