With over a million registered lorries and commercial vehicles on our roads and only an estimated 13,000 secure designated parking spaces available, it’s easy to see why truck drivers spend manynights parked in lay-bys or dark secluded parking areas, leaving themselves open to attack.
With the constant increase in fuel and raw material prices, commercial vehicles are vulnerable to attack and provide easy pickings for criminals. In many cases these attacks lead to serious damage of the fuel tanks and catalytic converters. Just consider how much an incident really costs. It’s not just the diesel or the catalytic at stake (which is bad enough) but other associated problems can occur such as:
• Hours of unavoidable vehicle and driver down time
• Thousands of pounds for a new tank or CAT should it be vandalised
• Undelivered goods and lost revenue
• Dissatisfied customers and the potential loss of business
Installing the revolutionary and innovative TruckSecure System which has been developed using the many years of experience our engineers have gained in the security industry will deter criminals from attacking the vehicle.
When the vehicle is parked and the ignition switched off, a sequence of events are initiated. The system primes itself waiting for the fuel to settle. Once settled the system calibrates and arms. This all takes place seamlessly and automatically so no driver input is required.
The main objective of the TruckSecure system is to ACTIVELY DETER criminals from targeting the the vehicle. From proven experience, a clear warning of protection will scare off most thieves. Trucksecure achieves this by flashing high intensity xeon strobes in the vicinity of the fuel tank at regular intervals once the ignition is switched off and the system is armed.
All criminals like an easy target, with the TruckSecure ACTIVE DETERRENT the element of doubt is put in their minds and deters them from approaching the vehicle in the first instance.
However, should the thief persist and attempt to steal fuel, TruckSecure will detect this and initiate an alarm activating a 114dB sounder and strobe to warn off the thief.
In addition, an optional GSM text-message module can send an alert to a number of phones that theft is in progress displaying the registration number and vehicle type.
